Dr. Joel Kopinsky

Dr. Kopinsky (Ph.D. Chemical Engineering and MBA) is responsible for The ITB Group’s consulting assignments in energy storage, vehicle emissions, plastic engine parts and glazing systems. Over the past 25 years he has completed a variety of strategic and technical feasibility consulting projects for leading suppliers, OEMs and investment banks in North America, Europe and Asia. In addition, he has completed numerous multiclient reports concerned with energy storage, glazing and powertrain technologies. In the 1980’s, Dr. Kopinsky worked at the General Motors Research Labs followed by the completion of his MBA at Columbia University. On the side, Dr. Kopinsky is an avid clarinetist and long-haul hiker.

Katie Sprick

Ms. Sprick is a Product and Development Engineer at AGC Chemicals Americas working with melt-processable fluoropolymers and compounds. Since joining AGC in 2011, she has worked with fluoropolymers for a variety of automotive applications, including wire and cable, fuel hose, and compressor hose. Currently she is leading the US development of functionalized fluoropolymer compounds for the next generation of fuel hose and for the replacement of metallic components. Ms. Sprick graduated from the University of Delaware and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Adam Toft

With 15 years of experience in the plastics and chemicals industry, Mr. Toft has worked in various roles at Arkema including R&D, engineering, account management, sales, and market development. Today he spends most of his time as Senior Account Manager interacting with tier suppliers in the automotive and transportation industry. Mr. Toft earned his bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering Technology at Shawnee State University and later earned his MBA at Penn State University.

Takuya Tadokoro

Mr. Tadokoro began his career at Toyota in 2008 and currently works as Assistant Manager. In this role, he is in charge of fuel system design, mainly for small and mid-sized SUVs. Mr. Tadokoro holds a degree in aerospace engineering.

Dil Sidhu

Mr. Sidhu has a variety of experiences from the public, private and academic sectors. He is currently the Chief Content Officer at Coursera (online learning) located in Silicon Valley, California. As a Professor of Management Practice, he has taught at 22 colleges and Universities around the world. Mr. Sidhu has consulted and taught on Authentic Leadership and The Science of Influence & Persuasion skills with a wide range of government and corporate organizations including Honda Europe, Volkswagen Group, Renault Nissan, Bentley Motors and Toyota.

Scott McCleary

Mr. McCleary is the North America Research Manager for Plastic Omnium – Clean Energy Systems. Here he leads advanced development activities related to fuel tank systems and water injection systems. Mr. McCleary has 15 years’ experience in research and product development and previously led launch activities for 1st and 2nd generation SCR systems for Plastic Omnium. He also led the control architecture development for SCR that was adopted as the basis for PO’s global SCR software. Mr. McCleary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.

Dr. Roman Bouffier

Dr. Bouffier began his career with Kautex Textron in 2015 and he is currently responsible for the Research Department, a role he has held since 2016. Prior to this, he operated as Vice Director of the Institute of Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen. Dr. Bouffier studied mechanical engineering, with a focus on plastics technology and later earned his Ph.D. in 2012 from RWTH Aachen University.

Jaime Altes Sosa

Mr. Altes has twelve years of experience in the automotive industry, and currently works as a System Engineer Team Lead for Continental’s latch valve project. He has been involved with this project from PV testing to date. Prior to this role, he worked as Senior Product Engineer in charge of the evaporative segment on all products. Mr. Altes holds an MBA and he is also Six Sigma Process Black Belt certified.

Sharon Beyer

Ms. Beyer is Fuel Systems Staff Research Engineer at Delphi and she has 30+ years of experience and 20 patents in the development and applications of new automotive fuel module and fuel systems technology. Her most recent achievement includes the development and release of the Delphi Brushless Fuel Pump. Ms. Beyer attended Michigan State University.

Paul Wetzel

Mr. Wetzel is Global Director of Engineering for Stant Corporation, where he coordinates the technology, development, and innovation of fuel delivery products for regional applications around the globe. Before this role, he managed the regional product engineering groups across all fuel system product lines in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Some key developments during his tenure include the successful development and launch of the 48mm & 60mm capless design and their integration into fuel filler pipes in NA, AP, and EU. Mr. Wetzel has over twenty years in the automotive industry with fifteen years of experience in fuel systems with multiple patents to his name. Mr. Wetzel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Thomas Lindner

Mr. Lindner has been supporting leading chemical companies in various roles and positions since 1983. He is an expert in polyolefin materials and for design and manufacturing of items made of it. Mr. Lindner is currently involved in automotive fluid systems at LyondellBasell and is responsible for application development and technical service.

Ryan Forman

Mr. Forman is Head of Innovation and Business Development, at Röchling Automotive North America. In this role, he leads the North American product management team; supporting regionalized development and deployment of current and future products in the company’s three product areas; aerodynamics, propulsion and new mobility. Prior to this role he operated as North American Product Manager, Aerodynamics. Mr. Forman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University.

Martin Kümmel

Mr. Kuemmel is Head of Business Development at First Sensor Mobility where he and his team is responsible for the strategic development of Lidar/Radar, cameras/camera systems and mems pressure sensors. Prior to this role, he held positions in purchasing, supply chain management, project management and product management. This background exposed him to a broad range of perspectives in the design, development, and application of automotive sensors and qualified him to lead the First Sensor team to new ADAS and green mobility sensor solutions for the automotive industry. Mr. Kuemmel holds a diploma of Industrial Engineering from Dresden University of Applied Sciences.

Teresa Alleman

As Senior Chemist with the Fuels & Combustion Science Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Ms. Alleman has led projects in areas including biodiesel, ethanol, natural gas, Fischer-Tropsch fuels, shale products, and pyrolysis oils. With her background in analytical chemistry, her work emphasizes fuel quality and compatibility, test methodology, and trace component analysis. Teresa also oversees several wet chemistry and analytical laboratories in support of this research. Teresa holds a variety of roles in ASTM D02 Committee on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants and and is the Vice-Chair for ASTM E48 on Bioenergy and Industrial Chemicals from Biomass.

Luis Manuel Porras

Mr. Porras has over 21 years of experience in the automotive industry and currently works as Product Development Staff Engineer responsible for fuel delivery module developments. His roles also include Subject Matter Expert for fuel module components, leader of change management for fuel handling globally and he is also the manager of the NVH Lab. Mr. Porras holds a degree in Industrial Mechanical Engineering with a focus on thermodynamics and a Master’s degree Quality and Productivity.

Isai Chavez

Mr. Chavez has over 15 years of experience in the automotive industry and currently works as NVH lab supervisor and Product Development Engineer at Delphi Technologies. His roles also include Subject Matter Expert in NVH, lead NVH test at component level, system level and field level, and he also provides NVH support to all Delphi global regions. Mr. Chavez holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering focused on product quality.

Dr. Zohir Benrabah

Dr. Benrabah is a Research Officer at NRC Automotive and Surface Transportation where he is currently working on development of finite element software dedicated to simulating and optimizing blow molding processes including conventional extrusion blow molding, stretch blow molding, twin sheet extrusion blow molding, thermoforming, and most recently Suction Blow Molding. Dr. Benrabah received his Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Polytechnic School in Algeria and a Master’s degree in Structural Mechanics from the University of Technology of Compiegne. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Laval University.
