Mitra O'Malley

Ms. O’Malley is one of the founding partners of The ITB Group in 1992. As Managing Director, she focuses on technology feasibility and business development activities in automotive acoustics, interior and exterior. Her specific areas of specialty include cockpit modules, door modules, overhead systems, acoustics, front-end modules (including bumper systems and lighting), roof systems and body panels. Ms. O’Malley has 31 years of experience in the automotive industry in a variety of roles. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering.

Dr. Bryan Reimer

Dr. Reimer is a Research Scientist in the MIT AgeLab and the Associate Director of The New England University Transportation Center at MIT. His research seeks to develop theoretical and applied insight into driver behavior by fusing together traditional psychological methods with big data analytics in computer vision and predictive modeling. His work leverages laboratory experimentation, driving simulation, field testing, and naturalistic study to find solutions to the next generation of human factors challenges associated with driver attention management, distraction, automation and the use of advanced driver assistance systems. Dr. Reimer is an author on over 200 technical contributions in transportation and related human factors areas and a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master’s in Manufacturing Engineering and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.

Dr. Alex Driskill-Smith

Dr. Driskill-Smith joined Ultrahaptics as Vice President of Business Development in 2016 and heads the sales, marketing, engineering and research teams based in their Silicon Valley office. Previously, he was Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development at Samsung, where he led a team supporting innovations and investments in semiconductors, displays, datacenter architecture, digital health, internet of things, human-computer interaction, augmented and virtual reality, and autonomous machines and robotics. Earlier in his career, he also held engineering positions at IBM and Hitachi. Dr. Driskill-Smith holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the University of Cambridge, an MBA degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and 8 issued and pending patents.

Mesut Eraslan

Mr. Eraslan leads the Human Machine Interface Center or Excellence in the Innovations and New Ventures Group at Flex. He has over 15 years of technical and business experience in displays, sensors, optics and mixed signal ICs targeted for medical, industrial, automotive and consumer applications. Through his career he has worked in partnership with Tier 1 customers globally to solve difficult engineering and business problems while creating innovations that translate into unique value propositions. Mr. Eraslan holds a Master’s Degree in Management degree from Harvard University, an MBA degree from Bilkent University and Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. In 2017 he was recognized with a “Distinguished Leadership Award” from Flex for his contribution in winning major automotive design projects with innovative HMI interface ideas.

Jussi Harvela

Mr. Harvela has over 25 years of global high technology business experience including CEO roles at leading USA and Finnish companies. He is also Senior Advisor to Superhero Capital and Co-Founder and General Partner of Veturi Venture Accelerator. Prior to his role as CEO at TactoTek, Mr. Harvela led Solid Information Technology from early stages of technology development through market development and revenue growth, leading to acquisition by IBM. Mr. Harvela has been a board member and senior advisor to a number of early and growth stage companies and recently became a Co-Founder and board member of Startup Foundation.

Dr. Wolfgang Clemens

Dr. Clemens is the co-founder of PolyIC, now a subsidiary of KURZ, and operates as Head of Product Management. Here he is responsible for sales and marketing of products with a current focus on transparent conductive films for touch applications. Prior to this role he worked at Siemens AG, where he developed magnetic sensor applications and from 1999 onward he was the project leader for the development of integrated polymer circuits. Dr. Wolfgang Clemens studied physics at the University of Cologne and Research Center Juelich in the field of thin film magnetism.

Damoder Reddy

Dr. Reddy, Founder and CEO of Argil, is a serial entrepreneur who also founded Solexant, a printed nanocrystal thin film solar cell company and Nuelight, a mixed signal IC developer for AMOLED displays. He has operated as COO at Opsys and at Lite Array and held technical management roles at Raychem on Polymer dispersed liquid crystals, Rockwell on optical thin films, and Dow Chemical on thin film membranes. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Osmania University (India) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Denver and Princeton.

Bob Senior

Mr. Senior has more than two decades of operational experience in the sphere of advanced man machine interfaces. He has served as CEO or in executive management positions in public and private touchscreen companies world-wide and has an outstanding track record of creating and growing businesses from start up to maturity and exit. Mr. Senior currently operates as Business Development Manager at Canatu and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education/Physics from the University of Exeter.

Simon Jones

Mr. Jones is responsible for sales and business development at FlexEnable and has led the successful engagement of lead customers for flexible displays and sensors in a range of applications and markets including automotive. Previous roles include VP Sales and Marketing at Liquivista, VP of Product Development at Plastic Logic and Business and Innovation Development Director at Dow Corning. Mr. Jones holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Sheffield and an MBA from Henley Management College.

Dr. Antti Keränen

Dr. Keränen is a co-founder and technology leader at TactoTek. He is responsible for directing R&D innovation activities, developing and maintaining the IP portfolio, and communicating the company technology vision and practical applications to the industry. Prior to this role, he joined the VTT Technical Research Center of Finland’s printed electronics team and has since been a major contributor to advancing in-mold electronics technology. In addition to his work at TactoTek, Dr. Keränen is an Adjunct Professor of theoretical physics at the University of Oulu where he also earned his Ph.D.

Mark de la Vergne

Mr. de la Vergne is the Chief of Mobility Innovation for the City of Detroit where he is charged with leading the development of a new mobility system in Detroit that combines the City’s fixed route bus network with new mobility services and technologies, integrating connected and autonomous vehicles into the City’s street network, developing new policies to better manage curbside use, and implementing a vision for the payment of mobility services. Prior to joining Mayor Duggan’s team, Mr. de la Vergne worked in the private sector where he led city building efforts for cities across North America including Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Toronto, and Pittsburgh. Mr. de la Vergne holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

Hendrik Hoppmann

Mr. Hoppmann is a business consultant and an expert in electronics. He is specialized in the fields of infotainment, HMI, e-mobility, ADAS and autonomous driving technologies. Prior to this role, he had ten years of experience in automotive electronics/HMI working with ZF Friedrichshafen and later Volkswagen. Mr. Hoppmann studied electronics engineering and later earned an MBA where he was specialized in strategic management and international management.

Dr. Faycal Benayad-Cherif

Dr. Benayad-Cherif is business manager of Vision and Software at FOBA and he has more than 25 years of experience in the development and management of products. In these roles he has developed laser based imaging solutions and vision technologies that offer unique ways to improve laser marking and engraving processes. Dr. Benayad-Cherif holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Design and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. He is the author of several technical publications and holds several US and international patents on robotics, lasers and 3D imaging technology.

Udo Weustenhagen

Mr. Weustenhagen was employed for 10 years at EOS Electro Optical Systems in product management, marketing and internal sales during and after his university studies in business economics. In 2009 he took over the sales of 2D laser cutting systems of eurolaser and established eurolaser in the industry sector. 2016 he moved to Niebling as a Director responsible for sales and developing company marketing strategies.

Dr. Stephen Coulson

Dr. Coulson has worked in the nano-coating industry for over twenty years and during his Ph.D. studies at Durham University, he developed a series of hydrophobic coatings to protect soldiers’ uniforms from chemical attacks. Dr. Coulson later founded P2i in 2004 in order to commercialize the many applications of the technology and after several years of success in the lifestyle, filtration and life-science sectors, the P2i team further optimized the technology for the electronics market. Dr. Coulson remains P2i’s CTO and continues to lead the development of their technology.

Andy Stecher

Mr. Stecher’s experience in an executive capacity at manufacturing organizations totals nearly 30 years and he is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer for Plasmatreat North America, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to this role he operated as Vice President for Operations for RATIONAL North America and Chief Financial Officer/General Manager for HARTING, Inc. Mr. Stecher earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree at DePaul University and Benedictine University, respectively.

Bernhard Mitteregger

Mr. Mitteregger began his career in 1986 as a service engineer for SMT placement systems at Siemens and later joined Rockwell Automation as a sales manager. In 2001, he co-founded Silcos and currently operates as Sales Director. Mr. Mitteregger holds an Engineering Degree in Electronics and Communications Technology from HTL Innnsbruck and a Master’s Degree in Marketing and General Management from MCI Innsbruck.

Sunit Shah

Mr. Shah is currently Marketing Manager with Equistar Chemicals focused on marketing the company’s products to the European automotive OEMs in North America. With LyondellBasell and predecessor companies, he has held various positions in technology development and business management, and has been responsible for the development and commercialization of engineered polyolefin compounds and thermoplastic elastomers for automotive and consumer/industrial applications. Mr. Shah holds three US patents in the field of polyolefin compounds in automotive applications and holds a Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering and Polymer Science from the University of Massachusetts.

Dan Rozelman

Mr. Rozelman is the Technical Sales Manager for Hennecke’s Composites and Advanced Applications group, a role he has been active in for the past two years. Here he is responsible for sales of a wide range of capital equipment in the North America and Canadian markets. Mr. Rozelman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and is currently working on his MBA at West Texas A&M University.

Marshall Paterson

Mr. Paterson has spent over 26 years working on decorative plastics with integrated printed circuitry for applications in the automotive, telecoms, medical, and consumer electronics markets. After starting out in the electronics industry, he spent 15 years working on 2D and 3D integrated plastic components at ADS in Europe before transferring to the U.S. where he is currently operates as Vice President of New Product Development. Mr. Paterson holds First Class Honors in Electronics from Napier University of Edinburgh.

Seth Astle

Mr. Astle began his career focusing on designing award-winning products that solve complex human needs including applications in limb loss, prosthetic devices, scoliosis, and post-op bracing. He later joined 3D Systems and currently operates as Design Manager where he leads design and explores new directions in 3D printing. Mr. Astle graduated with Honors from Art Center College of Design with a degree in Product Design.
