    The ITB Group's highly anticipated Thermal Management Systems and Materials Conference took place in Novi, Michigan on June 15, 2023, and proved to be a resounding success. The conference, dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge thermal solutions for electrified drive and battery systems, safety systems, as well as conventional and hybrid powertrain heating and cooling technologies, attracted experts throughout the automotive industry.

    A total of 79 companies were represented at the event, with notable OEMs including GM, Ford, Stellantis, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Hyundai, Rivian, and Daimler Truck making their presence known. This diverse representation demonstrated the significant interest and commitment within the industry towards advancing thermal management systems and materials.

    With an impressive roster of 203 scheduled attendees, the conference fostered a vibrant atmosphere for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking. The event featured three main sessions with 16 total presentations addressing critical challenges and emerging trends in thermal management systems.

    Ample networking sessions were created to facilitate meaningful connections among participants. The attendees engaged in in-depth discussions, exchanged ideas, and explored potential collaborations. The exhibit hall, featuring 16 exhibitors, further enhanced the experience by providing a platform for companies to showcase their innovative products, technologies, and services.

    Feedback from the conference has been overwhelmingly positive and plans for the next Thermal Management Conference in June 2024 are already underway.     Sean Osborne

    Mr. Osborne leads vehicle efficiency, thermal and fluid management initiatives at The ITB Group. He has been developing and implementing strategic visions as a executive in several organizations for 25 years. Over the past 35 years he has accumulated extensive experience in automotive development, including experience working in Europe and China as well as the United States. Areas of his automotive specialization are vehicle efficiency, thermal and fluid management, fuel systems, and communications networks. Mr. Osborne holds Master’s degrees in Engineering and Management from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from General Motors Institute.
