ITB Automotive Surfaces 2026
Date: Thursday, October 8, 2026
Venue: MSU Management Education Center. Troy, Michigan, USA
Format: In-Person

ITB’s Automotive Surfaces 2026 brings together the global community advancing the next generation of surface technologies for vehicles. We focus on how material systems, both smart and traditional, are developed, engineered, validated, and integrated to enhance the user experience, meet functional targets, and align with real manufacturing constraints.
After a strong Automotive Surfaces 2025 turnout and a highly technical program, we are building on the momentum with an even sharper focus on what is changing in surfaces right now.
Join stakeholders from across the value chain, OEMs, Tier 1s, surface system suppliers, and material innovators from North America and beyond.
What the Conference Covers
ITB’s Automotive Surfaces 2026 focuses on:
♦ Surface materials for perceived quality and durability, texture, gloss control, scratch and mar resistance, cleanability, (including PFAS‑free and next‑gen stain‑resistant chemistries), AI-assisted material screening, and aging
♦ UX-driven surface behavior, glare and reflection control, smudge and fingerprint management, cleanability, thermal feel, programmable tactile textures, long-term appearance
♦ Smart and illuminated surfaces for HMI, lighting, touch and haptics, sensor integration, and printed or in-mold electronics
♦ Decorative skins, films, laminates, and wraps, premium visuals at automotive cost targets, plus recycled-content strategies and circular design constraints
♦ Exterior surface systems and integration, lighting fascia, glazing, panel coatings, and sensor-compatible materials
♦ Cockpit touchpoints and perceived quality, instrument panel, center stack, consoles, door trim, steering wheel, bezels, soft trim, high-wear zones
♦ Manufacturing and validation, bonding and integration methods, tooling and process windows, paint and coating realities, testing, and quality controls
