Automotive Fuel Systems

2021 Update

Automotive Fuel Systems
The global automotive industry is currently undergoing a paradigm shift towards the increasing use of electrified components from simple stop/start systems to 48V systems, full hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully electrified vehicles. Confusion reigns concerning the rate of these changes. There is continually conflicting evidence from the marketplace as participants try to interpret developments from the OEMs. Interestingly though, OEMs have started introducing major new electrified programs. Ford is one example with its electrified Mustang Mach-E and soon one of its F-Series truck derivatives. One thing is clear, that as the industry moves towards 2030, ICE engines will remain on at least 90 percent of vehicles.

At the same time as the moves towards electrifying vehicles, government regulations continue to tighten. China and Europe are looking towards the emergence of China 7 and Euro 7, respectively. In the USA, regulatory developments are expected to hasten with the election of a new president.

Vehicle fuel systems will undergo changes as a result of tougher emission requirements and powertrain developments together with improvements to existing fuel system components.

ITB’s 2021 report will be covering each of these changes via a dynamic two-pronged approach for highlighting developments and analyses in the automotive fuel systems market. The key elements of ITB’s approach include:

  • Web-based Portal – provides ongoing updates concerning developments in the fuel systems market pertaining to government regulations, new technologies, fuels or suppliers.
  • Industry-Funded Report – update of key technical, legislative and market developments together with an overview of the business dynamics of the automotive fuel system supply base.
