The ITB Group’s fourth technical fuel systems conference in Pune, India took place on March 21 and 22, 2018 creating an unparalleled platform for learning, discussion, and discovery for automotive industry experts. Global and local OEM engineers and innovative suppliers convened to take part in two days of informative presentations, networking sessions and business development meetings. Seventeen presentations in five sessions addressed trends and developments in materials, tanks and components, SCR systems, CFD simulation, and limiting exhaust emissions. Key presentations, among many excellent talks, included comments from Tata Motors on Barat Stage VI regulations and an overview of exhaust emission regulations in India was presented by the National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure project (NATRiP). A keynote from Ashok Leyland discussing “Evolution of Commercial Vehicle Engines in India” capped off our leading event.
Attendees were also able to discover the latest fuel and urea system developments and innovations that were showcased in the exhibit. Exhibitors included Arkema, Evonik, GVS Filtration, Helvoet, Kautex Textron, Plastic Omnium, Reutter and Polyhose.

Dr. Joel Kopinsky
Managing Director - The ITB Group
Dr. Kopinsky (Ph.D. Chemical Engineering and MBA) is responsible for The ITB Group’s consulting assignments in energy storage, vehicle emissions, plastic engine parts and glazing systems. Over the past 25 years he has completed a variety of strategic and technical feasibility consulting projects for leading suppliers, OEMs and investment banks in North America, Europe and Asia. In addition, he has completed numerous multiclient reports concerned with energy storage, glazing and powertrain technologies. In the 1980’s, Dr. Kopinsky worked at the General Motors Research Labs followed by the completion of his MBA at Columbia University. On the side, Dr. Kopinsky is an avid clarinetist and long-haul hiker.
